Local Field School is an experimental, collaborative project developed to encourage the sourcing/ foraging/ testing and sharing of art materials and ideas in Dawson City.

This project was conceptualized in 2020 as a way to create community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We believe at this time of a global public health crisis, precarious public life, and environmental catastrophe, we need to come together in solidarity more than ever before. We believe that art can bring us together, and we believe in paying artists well.

Local Field School was started by Aubyn O’Grady, Amy Ball, and Ange Bonnici, but collective leadership and membership is determined on a project-to-project basis. Local Field School: STEAM BOAT is Aubyn O’Grady and Jared Klok, with help from Kim, Marta, Lucy, Jordan, and Justin.
